19 Easy Cartoon Characters to Draw

Hello friend!

Have you ever looked at your blank illustration board or canvas and had no idea what you want to draw or paint?

I have over 30 years experience of creating art. This happens to me, too. 

You might be asking, “what do you do to not get stuck?”.

Some people might spend hours on Pinterest, go on walk, or whatever they choose and hope to stumble upon inspiration that will fuel their creativity. 

To be honest, I do that at times. 

However, I do something else a far majority of the times. 

It’s far more effective, too.

I do the equivalent of diving into the deep end of the pool when you don’t know how to swim. 

I’ll look at something and just draw it without any hesitation. 

For example, I’ll look some at easy cartoon characters to draw. 

Then, I’ll draw it. I’m not thinking if it’s going to be good or bad. I just draw. 

In fact, sometimes it is bad when I look at the drawing days later. 

But then I”ll repeat the same step. 

I’ll look at the bad drawing and draw it again to see if I can do better than before. 

You don’t have to do this with cartoon characters, but I like the idea of drawing cartoons because these give two incredible benefits:

  1. Provides an incredible activity you can do with your child, niece, or nephew

  2. Forces you to focus on drawing simple shapes as most cartoon characters are designed from mostly basic shapes
