Transform Your Animal Sketches with This Simple Method
Hello friend!
Have you ever struggled to make your animal sketches look lively and authentic? What if there was a way to transform even the simplest animal drawing into something truly captivating? 🦓
You don’t need to be an expert to see dramatic results. Using a few foundational techniques, you can unlock a more realistic and dynamic look in your sketches. Discover more here!
Here are a few ways to level up your next animal sketch:
Use Basic Shapes First: Start with ovals or circles to map out the body. This creates a solid base for proportion and structure.
Focus on Line Flow: Make sure your lines follow the natural movement and curves of the animal, giving your sketch a sense of energy.
Add Details Gradually: Small features like hair, muscles, and textures bring out the essence of the animal without overwhelming your drawing.
The magic is in how you layer these elements. If you want to see a step-by-step transformation from simple shapes to a striking zebra sketch, check out the full guide here.
Give it a try, and see how a few tweaks can elevate your animal sketches to new heights!
Writer RAG tool: build production-ready RAG apps in minutes
RAG in just a few lines of code? We’ve launched a predefined RAG tool on our developer platform, making it easy to bring your data into a Knowledge Graph and interact with it with AI. With a single API call, writer LLMs will intelligently call the RAG tool to chat with your data.
Integrated into Writer’s full-stack platform, it eliminates the need for complex vendor RAG setups, making it quick to build scalable, highly accurate AI workflows just by passing a graph ID of your data as a parameter to your RAG tool.

It can be such a hassle when you get colored pencils and they break! That’s why I like these. The inside color core is pretty think, so you’ll be able to use them for a long time.
Pencil Set
To be honest, I don’t really use a pencil set that much, but if you’re starting out or doing a lot of shading with pencils then I recommend them.
There are different grades of pencils, and when you’re starting out you don’t know which one you’ll like the most.
Getting an inexpensive but high quality pencil set allows you to try different pencil grades and an assortment of drawing supplies.
Plus this one allows you to work in grey tones with the pencils, black with the charcoals, or add some color with the conte sticks!
Looking for something cute and colorful? Well, a pencil set doesn’t have to be the same boring colors anymore.
Castle is offering a limited time deal on a set of 72 colored pencils. Intense, creamy pigments with a money back guarantee.
Cheaper version of Copic Markers. Seemless blending, refillable ink, and 120 vibrant colors.
Cheaper version of Prismacolor Colored Pencils. 72 rich colors that won’t break.
Cheaper canvas alternative.
I found an inexpensive but great quality iPad so you can start drawing in Procreate.
Just getting Photoshop alone is $23/month. That’s almost $300/year.
By getting this iPad and Procreate you’re spending about the same BUT you have it for LIFE.
You pay once and you pretty much get to use it forever!
There are many cheap styluses out there, but I find the Apple Pencil is the best quality by far.
The problem is that the pencil is quite expensive.
Well, here’s a cheaper price Apple Pencil.
Have a great day,
Jae
